I'm a Software Engineer focused on autonomous systems, multi-agent infrastructure, and reliable software. My recent work spans Next.js 16, FastAPI, Model Context Protocol, Claude Code, and test-driven engineering with BDD and Gherkin.
At TRANZACT, I build automation and data-integrity systems for high-traffic insurance platforms and help engineering teams adopt GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, and custom AI agents securely. I also teach Git & GitHub with AI at NETZUN, where the course has reached more than 2,000 students across Latin America with a 4.9/5 rating.
I studied Software Engineering at the Universidad Peruana de Ciencias Aplicadas, earning a 3.8/4.0 GPA and a merit-based scholarship. My undergraduate research on machine learning and adolescent smartphone addiction was presented at IEEE XXXI INTERCON 2024.
Community leadership
As Vice President of IEEE Computer Society at UPC, I've helped organize The Weekend Hack, Hello World, Season of AI, Microsoft Learning Day, and other programs reaching more than 1,000 attendees. The community has worked with GitHub, Microsoft, Amazon, and Notion to make high-quality technical education easier for students to access.
Selected from more than 6,000 applicants to become a GitHub Campus Expert Leader, I organize events, mentor students across Peru and Latin America, and teach modern collaboration, security, and AI-assisted development workflows.
As a Microsoft Student Ambassador, I speak about Azure AI and developer tools, support university initiatives, and create practical paths into software engineering. I also share programming lessons and career resources through @the.james.dev.
